Stories of Us

AUGUST
2023

Stories of Us was an exhibition featuring CCA faculty work that explored personal narratives of belonging, care, and community. The identity was designed to mirror this convergence of voices, diverse in origin yet unified in expression. The contrast between a structured and fluid font represents the interplay of perspectives that shape and enrich the community.

MY ROLE

As the exhibition’s designer, I developed multiple design directions during the concept phase, and once a direction was approved, I refined and expanded it into a cohesive system. My responsibilities included designing the exhibition title, wall labels, signage, posters, and social media assets, ensuring the identity translated across both physical and digital touchpoints.

THE VISION

The visual identity embodies the meeting of distinct narratives, symbolizing how individuals from varied backgrounds come together to create a collective whole. Structured and fluid typefaces are paired, a deliberate contrast that echoes the interplay between order and openness, individuality and togetherness. This tension and balance capture the spirit of Stories of Us: a community defined not by uniformity, but by connection.

“The works featured in Stories of Us serve as a reminder of the fact that we are not alone and that we do, in fact, belong, whether that be as students, artists, professors, staff,
or simply as individuals.”
